Thanks Trevor for the review. I reguard this work as a jazz masterpiece and it would certainly be in my desert island collection.
I feel the rippling Rhodes piano helps give this work a trippy " "other world " quality.
You mention Zawinul's organ playing and I agree it adds to the ambience of the work. What's curious is it that, as far as I know, it is the only time Miles recorded with a Hammond organ. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also I am not aware of Zawinul using hammond on any of his albums. A shame, because it sounds great.
