The powers that be got cheap on the booklet of this set and left out all the discussion and information about each performance as was done on the beautiful "Vegas" box set. Oh, there are great pictures and remembrances but very, very little is written about the actual performances on the discs!
The most unforgivable error made is in the credits for the partial June 1984 Carnegie Hall performances. I was there and the great Buddy Rich Band shared the bill with Mr. S and they were used as the primary accompaniment (sans Buddy) for the entire engagement. For whatever reason, Buddy and his great band are not credited on the disc or in the booklet. How sad.
