Great review and am anxious to decide which to order.
At one time, (early fifties) I owned every Kenton record recorded - Then came vinyl, then came - -
so I couldn't keep up but did have the distinct
thrills accompanying my visits to the Rendezvous in Balboa and also at the Palladium in Hollywood. Heard too late . . of the concert in Glendale last night
March 13th - Can you furnish me with an itinerary
as to future stops? Thanks, Dick Dybdahl -

Robert provides a thorough review. Thank you. Vax's "Have Band Will Travel" is a really fine CD which I have been listening to almost daily now for a couple of weeks, finding new things to enjoy with each listen. Any big band lover (and not just Ketnon fans) will find much to enjoy here, though the band does a good job of the Kenton pieces, especially the ballds like "Tonight" and Artemis and Apollo." The insertion of of Carl Fontana's solo played by the ensemble in "Intermission Riff" is a real highlight.

Thanks to Robert for such a great review, and to Dick and John for their wonderful comments. We do believe that "Have Band Will Travel" is our best effort to date with the Kenton Alumni Band.
Dick - please go to www.bigbandjazz.net to find out more about what we have done and will be doing in the future.
