When I read this extended analysis-review of my latest album, 'Songs From The Breastbone Drum', I was so moved by Robert Bush's keen understanding of my music that it is hard to remain unemotional. You did an astonishing job, and no words can thank you and AAJ enough for telling the world about my music and about 'SFTBD'. I am especially honoured by your positive comparisons of my composition-improvisation style to jazz and 'new music' luminaries like Oregon, Pat Metheny, and Steve Reich.
Please allow me to announce that anyone interested to obtain 'SFTBD' may visit:
    http://dominacatrinalee.bandcamp.com/album/songs-from-the-breastbone-drum

The entire album is now available for immediate download in pure 24 bit WAV format (or FLAC format as well), with extensive liner notes and album artwork.

So amazingly talented, your music has ethereally transported me to a realm of "Tranquility and Bliss". You are truly a rare talent. Thank you for sharing this magnificence with the world. Please accept all of your well-earned accolades!

I must thank Lisa Maxwell - an inspiring new artist in her own right - for not only going out of her way to pen her supportive words and show her encouragement, but is one of the few who 'walk her talk' and had placed 'her money where her mouth is', and is one of my Platinum member purchasers (if I had such a thing) of Songs From The Breastbone Drum.
When a fellow artist praises your hard work (and very hard work, approx. 50 hours of programming per minute of recorded music, plus getting guitar practice up to speed, plus composing, arranging, production, engineering and final mastering- all done by me), which to date has not availed purchasers or real supporters excepting Platinum hearted ones like Lisa. Bravo Lisa Maxwell, Bravo! A great talent , and a true soul who speaks my language of honesty and integrity, I appreciate you as much as you appreciate this admittedly uncompromising, visionary new music of mine, designed to inspire, uplift, touch and move the very core of us all. Like Blake, Van Gogh, and countless other true visionaries, this (and all upcoming creations of mine) face the challenge of not only remaining undiscovered, but would place the artist in the unenviable position of being 'ahead of their time' and thus unsold, forgotten, dismissed, and removed to poverty evermore.

So truly I applaud you Lisa! For your very real support! While others may press the like button at facebook (its free) or write long eulogies (it is also free), one can feel your sincerity and integrity that when you say a thing is good you proved it to me and to everyone!

But perhaps there are others like Lisa Maxwell (even as I have constantly supported and helped my musical heroes like McLaughlin, Oregon, Pat Metheny become the stars they are today) who will be encouraged to put aside negative feelings of professional rivalry and instead stand behind MUSIC, not personality or person, not YOUR music or My music - but the MUSIC itself. And do what we all can that this MUSIC thrives in such adversity and hatred.

I encourage every artist to be inspired by this work and create after your own personal conception the music that makes your heart soar and your eyes tear, and your soul cry for truth, for justice, for love, for wrongs to be righted, for the weak to be protected, for the misunderstood to be welcomed.

This world in this time needs this MUSIC and such kind more than ever.
    More than ever.

January 12, 2011: Only nine days to go before the RocketHub Fund Raiser to make 'Songs From The Breastbone Drum" available in the CD medium's deadline. At 9% of target achieved in all likelihood the needed funds will not be raised.
Lack of album sales, coupled with rampant illegal downloading of my work from Bandcamp, Youtube and other online sites where my work is displayed is forcing me to take drastic action. Come 21st Jan (RocketHub deadline) and the project ends-fails, I will have no choice but to withdraw ALL my music from every website it is currently on. Persons interested in purchasing any of my albums or are offering funding or sponsorship may contact me directly here at AAJ . Thank you to AAJ and Mr. Bush for listening to my music with an open mind and helping 'this unknown kid'.

catrina - congratulations! truly appreciate your very special and splendid creations - very refreshing and certainly an artistic novelty. sadly still unknown masterpiece - keep it up!

  • Domina Catrina Lee wrote on February 03, 2011 report

Many thanks Cendrine. If you would like a personal copy of the album contact me directly at dominacatrinalee(at)gmail.com
I am now re-mixing & re-mastering the high resolution 24 bit recording for greater fidelity, less compresion, etc.
It is a pity I had to withdraw the album from bandcamp, but a necessary step, to protect it from further theft.

Am deeply honoured and humbled to be on this amazing compendium of who's-who among the more adventurous of creative and improvising music artists in the world today, My thanks is true for this indepth analysis.
I have to tell you and all your readers that I have had a name change from Domina Catrina Lee, to Catrina Daimon Lee, 'daimon' being anagramatic of 'domina'. The previous name gave rise to misconceptions among listeners as far ranging as having a BDSM, right down to a Roman Catholic, association. Well, perhaps not so far apart after all.
Having not reached the target financial goal for the RocketHub Project which took place in January 2011, I have decided to make my albums available in numerous online 'indie' sites, namely:

    http://indietorrent.org/catrinadaimonlee

which I offer the highest quality 24bit FLAC digital album downloads with complete cover art and liner notes, and mp3 versions at:

    http://www.songstall.com

(please do a search there for Catrina Daimon Lee)

I am also offering made to order CD format versions at
    http://www.lulu.com
(please do a search there for Catrina Daimon Lee)

and also concurrently I am investigating the possibility of making limited run of dithered from the 24bit master, higher resolution CD-r for yet another online vendor site.
The CDs on offer for individual order at lulu differs only in sound quality, being closer to just CD resolution than the other media offered here.

Thank you so much AAJ for this honour, and also for allowing me to tell your readers about the current status of this breakthrough album.
