Very interesting. I just learned from a new book about Bill Evans I'm reviewing that he listened to Donny Hathaway, specifically the unique rendition of the old chestnut "For All We Know." His clear as a bell, dead-on pitch poetry on that tune is remarkable. Donny's music keeps popping up in all the best places and among those who appreciate his fine gifts. Again, very astute writing.
