“Dear Ones” by Josh Maxey
From
Cycles of Sound (Self Produced) by Josh Maxey
Editor's Comments
Joshua Maxey has a well matched band, each contribution is patient and respectful, nothing rivals or clashes. There are guitar riffs that recall a variety of familiar origins; all pleasing (it has the zest of Blind Melon's No Rain about it). Chase has a fresh and commanding sound on sax. A quietly euphoric tune. Album is released today, go check it out..
About
Cycles of Sound is album number six in a series of 6 recordings in 12 months. The previous albums in the series are: Incarnate, Approach, The Language of Sound and Spirit, Argument for the Blues, Light Cycles, and Blues in the Kitchen.
The song is written for those I love dearly. Loved ones, family, friends, and teachers - those I learn the most from. Dear Ones is music expressing an understanding that it isn't the highest highs or lowest lowest lows that are most important, or where I find life's meaning. Often, it is found in humble moments, touched by love, with those most dear.
Personnel: Josh Maxey, guitar and composition, Chase Baird, saxophone, Jeremy Noller, drums, David Lantz, piano and John Tate, bass.
