“Blues for Zim” by Adam Glasser
Mzansi (Sunnyside Records) by Adam Glasser
Zim we didn't know you, but we miss you too. Folks are you smiling yet? You need more harmonica in your life people...get thee to the mp3 station and fill up on this.
"Blues for Zim" is dedicated to the late Zim Ngqawana--extraordinary vibrant South African tenor saxophone player who I met briefly in 2010 and who I had hoped to collaborate with at some future point before his premature death in May 2011. This track include myself, Khaya Mahlangu (tenor), Sydney Mavundla (trumpet), Lee Roy Sauls (drums) and Steve Watts (double bass)
