Who can't relate to the line - "I was around, but you didn't notice me back then"? When I wrote this song I was remembering childhood crushes, thinking of the endless new schools I went to and the ridiculously romantic valentines I'd leave for little girls I didn't even know, then I'd have to hide in embarrassment until my family moved again and sent me to a new school. Whew! How I survived my boyhood, I'll never know.
